Teach's Beard

Captain Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, ruled the seas until his demise in 1718. Blackbeard was known to tie lit fuses into his beard and hair before battle, wreathing his face in thick smoke. Most victims simply surrendered their cargo rather than fight the smoking demon.
